Product Introduction
The GE H201Ci-1 motherboard contains a read-only memory (later known as EEPROM, EEPROM, or non-flash) to initialize hardware devices and load an operating system from a peripheral device. Microcomputers such as the Apple II and IBM PC used a ROM chip installed in a socket on the motherboard. When powered on, the CPU loads its program counter with the address of the boot ROM and begins executing instructions from the boot ROM. These instructions initialize and test the system hardware, display system information on the screen, perform random access memory checks, and then load an operating system from a peripheral device. If none is available, the computer will perform tasks from other ROM memories or display an error message, depending on the model and design of the computer. For example, the Apple II and the original IBM PC had a basic cartridge (ROM BASIC), which would boot it if no operating system could be loaded from a floppy disk or hard disk.
GE H201Ci-1Most modern motherboard designs use a basic input-output system, stored in an EEPROM or non-flash chip soldered or plugged into the motherboard to boot an operating system. When the computer is powered on, the BIOS firmware tests and configures the memory, circuitry, and peripherals. This power-on self-test (POST) may include testing some of the following:

Hydran 201Ti Intelligent Transmitter
The H201Ti intelligent transmitter has a small cylindrical housing and is directly mated to the transformer's dissolved gas monitoring valve via a brass adapter.
The H201Ti includes a standard HYDRAN? sensor, thermal regulation system and microprocessor-based electrical transmitter. Terminals facilitate connection to AC power, alarm contacts (gas high, gas high-high and system fault) and supervision connections, as well as an analog 0-1mA non-isolated output. An optional 4-20mA isolated output is also available. An RS-232 connector for computer interface is also provided.
Equipped with a membrane keyboard and LCD display, it can be used without an external computer.
Hydran 201Ci-1 Single Channel Controller
The H201Ci-1 control unit is a single channel controller for use with the H201Ti intelligent transmitter. The digital/analog board handles communications and provides display, alarm and analog output functions.
The main terminals allow easy connection of: AC power; alarm contacts (gas high, gas high-high and system fault); jumper-configurable non-isolated analog outputs (0-1mA, 4-20mA, 0-1V, 0-10V) and jumper-configured isolated analog outputs. The auxiliary terminals are used as supervisory connections for the H201Ti intelligent transmitters. Connectors for communications: RS-232 to a computer or optional modem, RS-485 to other H201Ci controllers.

H201Ci-C Communication Controller
The H201Ci-C control unit is a communication controller. It can supervise up to 4 H201Ti intelligent transmitters via isolated supervisory connections, such as a transformer cabinet (including phases A, B, C and sometimes an auxiliary). The H201Ci-C communication controller has no display, alarms or analog outputs. It is the interface for the H201Ti intelligent transmitter network to the computer via RS-232 or modem.
The H201Ci-C is housed in a small NEMA-4X box and includes a digital board that handles communications. Main terminals allow for easy connection to AC power. Connectors for communications: RS-232 to computer or optional modem (4 connectors), RS-485 to other H201Ci controllers.
H201Ci-4 Four Channel Controller
The H201Ci-4 control unit is a four channel controller. It is designed to be used with up to four H201Ti intelligent transmitters and is housed in a NEMA-4X box. The digital/analog board handles communications and provides scanned display outputs, alarms and analog outputs.
Main terminals allow for easy connection to AC power and alarm contacts (gas high, gas high-high and system fault). Connectors for communications: RS-232 to computer or optional modem, isolated supervisory connection to H201Ti intelligent transmitter, RS-485 to other H201Ci controllers.

Five-position rotary switch selects continuous display of one channel, or selects automatic scanning mode.
