The user controls module operation using the programming software or through the operating mode using the RUN/STOP three-position switch. A memory protection key or software password can lock configuration and program data.

During actual operation and power-on, the CPU verifies the rack configuration, and its alarm function reports any deviations in the programming and/or actual configuration. IC697CPM790 has a lithium battery to maintain calendar clock operation, data memory, and program memory.

It is important to note that the module IC697CPM790 must be used with a stand-alone C program that provides Triple Modular Redundancy (TMR) operation and automated test routines. Unless this program is included in the loaded application program, it will not run.
