Product Introduction
Ge Fanuc CPU VMIC VMEbus VMIVME7750 VMIVME-7750-746000 Module. The Ge Fanuc CPU VMIVME-7750 VMIVME-7750-746000 module is a single-slot Pentium III single-board computer (SBC) designed for industrial control systems. It operates at up to 1.26 GHz and contains 512 KB of SDRAM. The module also features a PMC expansion site, dual Ethernet connections, and supports up to 1 GB of CompactFlash storage. The device is part of the VME (VersaModule Eurocard) standard family and is designed for high-performance computing applications. This makes it a versatile component for a wide range of applications that require a compact, powerful computing solution.
Key Specifications:
Processor: Up to 1.26 GHz Pentium III processor with 512 KB Advanced Transfer Cache
Memory: Up to 512 MB PC133 SDRAM using a single SODIMM
Display Controller: Internal AGP SVGA controller with 4 MB display cache
System Bus: 133 MHz system bus via Intel 815E chipset
Network Interface: Dual Ethernet interfaces supporting 10BaseT and 100BaseTX
PMC Expansion Site: Available for PMC (PCI Mezzanine Card) expansion.
The VMIVME-7750 uses a new Intel chipset technology, the 815E. This
chipset differs from previous generations of devices by using a new Advanced Hub Architecture (AHA).
Architecture (AHA). AHA allows for improved system performance by
coupling many high-bandwidth I/O accesses (such as IDE or USB devices) with PCI
accesses, alleviating bottlenecks on the PCI bus. In addition, the 815E chipset brings a new level of integration to motherboard chipsets, and provides additional features (such as support for ATA-100) over other chipsets. The VMIVME-7750 brings the Intel Pentium III processor to VME, offering processor speeds up to 1.26GHz. This Pentium III processor features 32-bit addressing and 64-bit data buses. Its superscalar architecture allows three instructions to execute per clock cycle. A dynamic branch prediction unit, separate instruction and data caches, and MMX? technology also improve processor performance. The Pentium III processor also offers 256 KB (1.26 GHz has 512 KB) of *** transfer cache (on-die, full-speed Level 2 cache) using a dual independent bus architecture for high bandwidth and performance. This L2 cache runs at the same clock frequency as the processor. The VMIVME-7750 supports Ethernet LAN with two Intel Ethernet controllers (one 82559, the other internal to the Intel chipset ICH2). 10BaseT and 100BaseTX options are supported via two RJ45 connectors. Remote LAN boot is supported. Remote Ethernet Boot: The VMIVME-7750 utilizes BootWare? from LanworksTechnologies, Inc. BootWare provides the following capabilities to remotely boot the VMIVME-7750 using NetWare, TCP/IP, or RPL network protocols. BootWare Features: ?NetWare, TCP/IP, RPL network protocol support, boot sector virus protection ?Detailed boot configuration screen There are two 16550 compatible serial ports on the VMIVME-7750 front panel. The serial channel has a 16-b FIFO supporting baud rates up to 115 Kbaud. Requires two micro-DB-9 to byte standard DB-9 adapters, GE Fanuc P/N 360-

Flash: The VMIVME-7750 provides up to 1 GB of IDE accessible CompactFlash memory via an auxiliary ID. The VMIVME-7750 BIOS includes board booting from Flash. Timers: The VMIVME-7750 provides the user with two 16-bit
timers and two 32-bit timers (in addition to the system timer). These timers are mapped as i software programmable. Watchdog Timer: The VMIVME-7750 provides a software programmable watchdog timer. The watchdog timer is enabled under software control. Once the watchdog timer is enabled, software must access the timer within the timer period or a timeout will occur. A user jumper allows a timeout
to cause a reset. Independent of the jumper, software can enable a watchdog timeout to cause a VMEbus SYSFAIL.
