Product Introduction

The IS220PPRFH1A power supply provides a regulated 28 V dc supply to each I/O block. The negative side of the 28 V dc is grounded through the I/O block metal housing and its mounting base. It has solid-state circuit protection built into the I/O package, rated at a trip point of 2A. Each I/O package communicates directly on the IO Net, which allows each I/O package to be replaced individually without affecting any other I/O in the system. In addition, the I/O block can be replaced without disconnecting any field wiring. The IS220PPRFH1A signal flow begins with the sensor connected to the terminal strip on the board. There are two types of Mark VIe terminal strips available: T-type and S-type. Mark VIe terminal strips are typically arranged in vertical columns of high and low-level wiring, accessible from the top and/or bottom cable entry. Strips can be provided on the left side of the metal base of the mounting plate. The T-type plate contains two 24-point barrier-type removable terminal strips. Eachpoint accepts two 3.0 mm2 (#12AWG) wires, 300 V insulated per point, with spade or ring lugs. Retaining clips are also provided for terminating bare wires. The screw spacing is 9.53 mm (0.375 in.) from center to center.

The IS220PPRFH1A Mark VIe control is designed for direct interface with turbine and generator equipment such as vibration sensors, flame scanners, linear variable differential transformers (LVDTs), magnetic speed sensors, thermocouples, and resistance temperature detectors (RTDs). Direct monitoring of these sensors reduces the need to insert equipment and its associated single points of failure. Direct connection to field devices reduces long-term maintenance and enables diagnostics to directly monitor the health of equipment mounted on the machine.

The IS220PPRFH1A contact inputs are powered by the 125 V DC battery bus (optional 24 or 48 V DC) through the Mark VIe terminal strip. Each contact input is optically isolated and has a 1 ms timestamp for sequence of events monitoring.

The terminations for the IS220PPRFH1A's existing contact inputs can be replaced one by one or split for higher alarm resolution. For example, instead of wiring multiple field contacts to a single contact input, it is possible to separate them into multiple contact inputs to provide individual alarm information for each problem in the lube oil system.

GE IS220PPRFH1A | I/O Pack | PPRFH1A | Mark VI Turbine Control System. Mark VI General Electric Module The IS220PPRFH1A is labeled as a Profibus Master Gateway Analog I/O Pack for use with the IS200PIDG1A accessory board. This model is rated for use in hazardous and non-hazardous locations. Model IS220PPRFH1A is described as a PROFIBUS Master Gateway module in the Mark VI series produced by General Electric. Although this model is designed for use with the Mark VI series, it can also be used with the Mark VIe and Mark VIeS series. The PPRF model is considered an analog output pack and is typically used with the IS200SPIDG1A accessory ID board. The I/O pack and terminal board together are rated and approved for use in hazardous and non-hazardous locations. www.plc-module.com When using the IS220PPRFH1A model, electrical specifications must be followed to avoid potential property damage or in some cases personal injury. There are two specifications, voltage and current. The supply voltage range is 27.4 to 28.6 VDC, with a nominal voltage of 28.0 VDC. The supply current used by the PPRF package is a maximum of 0.18 ADC. The PPRF model must also be used within a specific temperature range; this temperature range is -4 to 131°F or -20 to 55°C.

Model IS220PPRFH1A is described as a PROFIBUS Master Gateway module in the Mark VI series produced by General Electric. While this model is designed for use with the Mark VI series, it can also be used with the Mark VIe and Mark VIeS series. As is well known, the Mark VI Turbine Control System Series must be described as a somewhat self-descriptive GE Mark product line, as it has a specific set of possible functional applications in the control systems and management systems of GE compatible gas, steam and wind turbine auto-drive assemblies. This must be considered a massive upgrade from the previously existing Mark V Turbine Control System Series of the same full extended series name, as the potential applications of the Mark V Series were limited to gas and steam based applications. While generally attributed to the General Electric Mark VI Turbine Control System Series of products, this IS220PPRFH1A device belongs to another GE Mark product line sub-family, as it is actually a component of the HazLoc Mark VI Series sub-system family. The HazLoc sub-family to which this IS220PPRFH1A device belongs is specifically named because its products have a specific set of potential applications, particularly in hazardous Mark VI Series auto-drive assembly locations; these locations may be subject to persistent and harmful current surface voltages.

Hardware Tips and Specifications

PPRF models are considered analog output packages and are typically used with the IS200SPIDG1A accessory ID circuit board. The I/O package and terminal strip together are rated and approved for use in both hazardous and non-hazardous locations, which is almost certainly the root cause of why the IS220PPRFH1A Mark VI Turbine Control System series was originally classified as a "HazLoc" device. When using the IS220PPRFH1A model, the electrical specifications must be followed to eliminate the potential for property damage or in some cases personal injury. There are two specifications, labeled voltage and current. The supply voltage range is 27.4 to 28.6 VDC, with a nominal voltage of 28.0 VDC. The supply current used by the PPRF package is a maximum of 0.18 ADC. The PPRF model must also be used within a specific temperature range; defined as the ambient temperature rating, which is -4 to 131°F or -20 to 55°C. As mentioned above, the IS220PPRFH1A model is rated for use in both hazardous and non-hazardous locations. There is a listing certification for each location. Non-hazardous certification is UL E207685, same as Class I, Division 2, Groups A, B, C, D and Class I, Zone 2, Group IIC. ATEX Zone 2, Group IIC certification is UL DEMKO 12 ATEX 1114875X
