Product Introduction
125768-01 Functional Description
The first rack slot must contain the RIM (next to the power supplies). The RIM is compatible with TDXnet, TDIX, and DDIX
Bently Nevada external communications processors.
Although the RIM performs some tasks that are shared by the entire rack, it is not a vital component of the monitoring
system and has little bearing on how well the system as a whole operates normally. Each rack needs one RIM. The 3500
System requires a TMR version of the RIM for applications that use Triple Modular Redundant (TMR).
The TMR RIM also does "monitor channel comparison" in addition to doing all of the other normal RIM operations.
Configuration Keylock
Utilized to switch the 3500 rack between "RUN" and "PROGRAM" modes. RUN mode keeps out configuration modifications
while allowing the rack to operate normally. PROGRAM mode enables both local and remote rack configuration and
standard rack operation.
The switch may be left in either the RUN or PROGRAM positions by removing the key from the rack in either position. To
prevent unauthorized rack reconfiguration, lock the switch in the RUN position. Remote configuration of a rack is possible
at any moment by locking the switch in the PROGRAM position.
