Basic Control Modes

Inverters like the 93ES series typically offer several control modes, which are configured through parameters8.

• Keyboard Control (Local Control): The inverter is controlled directly via its keypad (RUN, STOP, FWD, REV keys)8.

• External Control: The inverter is controlled via signals wired to its digital and analog input terminals. This includes:

  • Digital Inputs: For commands like Start, Stop, Forward, Reverse, and preset speed selection.

  • Analog Inputs: For speed reference from a 0-10V voltage or 4-20mA current signal (e.g., from a potentiometer or process controller)8.

• Communication Bus Control: Control and monitoring are done over a fieldbus network (e.g., EtherCAT, CANopen, PROFIBUS—exact options depend on installed modules).
